i have been a called a hipster for typing like this, for enjoying independent films and music, for wearing glasses, for being on tumblr in the first place, for being queer, for seeing a psychologist, for buying and wearing vintage clothes, for having visited other countries, for using long words occasionally

and i have been a fandom blogger, a bloody weeaboo blogger (dark times), one of those bloggers who does nothing but take the piss of stuff, a band blog, a generic blog who only reblogs from the-funniest-posts, a big jumpers and tea sort of blogger, a scene kid (more dark times), i used to only reblog things taken with a fish-eye lens, social justice, no matter which you are you’ll still be called a hipster at some point

etcetcetc basically every kind of person on here and if it makes people happy to like what they like why is that bad????? as long as it doesn’t directly hurt someone it’s fine to have your tumblr, which i think of as a diary/collage of things you like, reflect what you enjoy, even if you like hd photos of starbucks and girls with their thumbs in their mouths smiling cutely

if we continue to have this attitude that it’s only okay for people to like what we like we’ll be stunted creatively for the rest of society
